So let me get this straight; this hack allows you to play a regular
burned DVD-R or DVD+R on a Microsoft Xbox360? Binaries signed, data not?

Can someone confirm this? Thank you.

Damn!

German boobs for Germans only :-(

My provider does not give free access to alt.binaries.*, the need a
german identity card. Since my nationality is not german I do not have
one and I will never have one.

fsck -y /protection/of/minors/

I hate them!

Any idea how I can get access to these files?

Thanks

Eurofeeds.com is processing them right now, they are at file 68 :-)
File release is pi-odd.* alt.binaries.xbox360

*insert warning*
Check with your local law if you allowed to download them, dutch law allows,
but I don't know about your country.

This is not the place to discuss where and how to obtain copyrighted
material. Last I checked, the listinfo description was rather clear.

Until then, do everyone else a favor and take it to xbox-scene or
$your-favorite-forum, thank you very much.

What works? You can boot files supplied by MS on a DVD5? Hows that
different from what the xbox 1 emu cdr could do weeks ago?

The .xex is signed and you cannot change it, even though it allows
you to run it from any media (This is still silly by MS). Sure you can
try to change the data files, but that doesn't mean you're suddenly in
control of what code is executed. Pretty much the only way to execute
code that you want is to modify the data such that it results in a
buffer overflow of some sort. Last time I checked, the data pages in
the X360 memory space are not executable...so forget it!

I agree it's a new thing in the sense that you can now modify at least
data that is read by the X360, but let's not get ahead of ourselves
here, the X360 is far from being hacked to allow you to play your
pirated games...

Let's be clear on this, Free60 is not interested in anyway about the
possibility of running pirated/backed up games on the 360. There won't
be any discussion further on the topic, nor any discussion on where/how
to find illegally distributed materials, thanks.

Oh well let's play the holy saint then and say running linux isn't the
same or "more legal" than running pirated games. In the end it all
boils down to the same technical discussion. But I agree, lets end it
here.

This is just a strange thought off course.

Some games load vector shades into the video memory, to let them execute by
the gpu, I was wondering some things

- Does the gpu have access to the system memory also ?

- Can a shader be kept resistant in a gpu ?
